James Green and his brothers just finished trimming our much-loved oak trees and I have nothing but praise for them and their work. James is a man of his word:  he shows up when he says he will, and does great work for a fair price. In addition, he is very knowledgeable about Texas trees (and snakes too!) and is careful in their trimming.

Green Tree Co was recommended to us by our nephew who had glowing reviews of his experience with them. James Green came out and assessed all the oak trees, 5-6 in all, 3 of which are probably >150yrs old. He and his crew are knowledgeable about both the health and asthetics of the trees. They were all super professional and friendly. He gave us an estimate and stuck to it. Lastly, the clean up was impeccable. you’d never know any work was done.

Our family has benefited greatly from the expertise & professionalism of James Green & the all the other Green Tree Company employees for many years. Their honesty, integrity, graciousness really make them an absolute pleasure to work with! They thoughtfully consider each tree cutting job and also give great advice on care for trees they sell and that we already have established. They also give great suggestions for trimming.
James has a real eye for native Texas trees and has helped me as I continue to build my own foraging skills. We have worked with Green Tree Company for many years and recommend them completely. Like so many, I was incredulous and absolutely crestfallen by the sheer volume of massive Live Oak (and my sweet Cedar Elm) limbs having collapsed under unbearable weight of ice in first nights of February 2023.  I wouldn’t let my dogs out back for fear of giant dangling limbs.  My neighbors found James Green,  were thrilled with his (and supporting cast’s) work, and provided me their confidence and his contact info.  James assured me he’d get to my work soon, and was true to his word with timely text communication days out, and hours leading up to, the time he had earmarked for me.  I’m one to stand out there and watch ya’ll, and I can tell you James moved deftly and professionally up high in these trees with AWE-inspiring series of footholds and lunges, like he was one with them.  He is a natural climber, and the safety harness system is an extension of him.  I’ve hired crews that did not use harnesses before; not a great feeling.

James demonstrates absolute mastery of physics and, while I did not expect to enjoy any aspect of this horrific storm ordeal, watching him climb then take important moments up there to evaluate/problem solve how best to safely and gently cut away and lower enormous entangled crown sections to earth, first securing them with rope, was actually an art form.  I had Buick-sized sections wedged, suspended at side yard and had NO clue how they could be removed without hitting roof edge, window, or fence below.  No challenge too great for Green Tree!

I notice things like the manner with which proprietors speak to persons working for them, and it’s obvious his guys are treated well, respect James, and are comfortable to approach/seek a moment of consultation from him, when necessary,  to get things accomplished safely and to his high professional standards.  I appreciated the chipper they brought, because we’ve all simply had enough of waiting weeks for the city.

We were wanting to add more trees to our property and move some recently planted ones - James to the rescue!

He came out and walked the property with us, listening to what we wanted for a end result.

He provided a quote that was quite reasonable and was able to start within a week.

The trees look fabulous (that is until the neighborhood cow herd got to a few of the smaller ones)

James is very knowledgeable, punctual and helped us immensely with his great advice.

We recently had the opportunity to work with James and his crew on an installation of 50 trees.  They were a pleasure to work with! Accommodating, professional, knowledgeable and right on schedule.
